TYPES OF RINGS
SPLIT RING
Split ring is a simple one piece design. It can be installed one per groove or two or more per groove with gaps staggered. With installed gaps held to close tolerances, this design can be used as an orifice.
TWO-PIECE SEALING RING
Two-piece sealing ring is a combination that prevents leakage through the step gap in either direction provided the inner ring gap does not align with the outer ring step. It can be furnished with anti-rotational features to prevent alignment.
THREE-PIECE RING
Three-piece ring design has no leak path in either direction. This type of ring is recommended where the application requires a flexible, low-leakage, low-tension design. (Cutout to the left shows anti-rotational feature of outer rings.)

CONTRACTING RING
This ring provides sealing and scraper action on piston rods. Can be furnished in two or three-ring combinations.
